Terms of service

Who we are

Sims4Mods (sims4mods.org) is an independent fan project. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Sims4Mods, and "you" means the person using the site. You can reach us at Sims4ModsContact@protonmail.com.

By using the site or becoming a supporter, you agree to these terms.

The supporter membership

• There are 3 membership tiers: Supporter, $5 USD a month, Builder, $15 USD a month and Architect, $25 USD a month. Every tier can download our tools and their updates from the supporter area while the membership is active. Builder and Architect add a vote on what we build next and priority help; Architect also gets early test versions, which may be unfinished.
• When you join you get a supporter key. It works on one device at a time: signing in on a new device signs out the last one. Keep it private and don't share it. We may switch off a key that is shared or abused.
• You need to be old enough to make a purchase where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.

Billing

• You're charged when you join, then again every month on the same date, until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars (Gumroad adds sales tax where it applies); your bank may convert them.
• You can join on Gumroad or right here on our site. If you join on Gumroad, Gumroad processes the payment and any sales tax, its own terms also apply, and you cancel or change tier with the Manage membership link in your Gumroad receipt email.
• Payments made on our site are processed by Braintree, a service of PayPal. Card details go straight to Braintree and are never seen or stored by us.
• If a renewal payment fails, Braintree will try again over the next few days. If it still fails, the membership ends.
• If we ever change the price, we'll say so on the site at least 30 days before it applies to you (and by email, if you gave us one). You can cancel before then.

Changing tier

Joined on Gumroad? Change tier from your Gumroad receipt email. Joined on our site? You can change tier on the Manage membership page. Moving up charges the difference for the rest of the current month straight away; moving down takes the difference off your next payment. After that, you pay the new tier's price each month.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time: on the Manage membership page, or for Gumroad memberships with the Manage membership link in your Gumroad receipt email. Nothing more is charged, and you keep access until the end of the month you've already paid for. Refunds are covered in our Refund policy.

Using the tools

• The tools are for your own use, including for builds and renders you share or sell. Please don't resell, re-upload or share the tool files themselves.
• Sims4Mods is a fan project. It is not made, affiliated with or endorsed by Electronic Arts. The Sims is a trademark of Electronic Arts Inc.
• The tools are provided "as is". We work hard to make them reliable, but we can't promise they'll work with every game update, mod or computer. Back up your saves and Blender files before using them.

Our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost game saves or files. Our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer protection law.

Ending a membership

We may end a membership that breaks these terms. If we ever end a membership for any other reason, or stop running the site, we'll refund the unused part of the current month.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and big changes will be announced on the site.
